The New-York Historical Society exhibit on Vietnam ran for 8 months in 2018 to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Vietnam War.
The video shown below features a birds eye view of the events leading up to and the aftermath of the U.S. Cambodia Invasion. In March of 1969, then-President Richard Nixon ordered the top secret bombing. U.S. Military footage from April 30, 1970 shows Nixon sending ground troops into Cambodia. Protests erupted on college campuses nationwide, culminating in the death of four students at Ohio’s Kent State. Seventy demonstrators and bystanders were assaulted a few days later during a student protest on Wall Street by NYC Construction workers.
On June 30, 1970 Nixon withdrew U.S. troops from Cambodia. Watch the short film below for rare military and archival news footage from the events.
